Overview
Adaptable to most applications in the field, on the factory floor, or in the lab
The USBPBP-S1 stand alone USB controllable module provides a single channel of high and low-pass filtering and high-quality instrumentation amplifier for front-end signal conditioning compatible with all popular A/D converter devices. The USBPBP-S1 is powered with 9 to 12VDC so it can be connected to a battery voltage source or the supplied 115-220VAC adapter may be used for operation with wall power anywhere in the world. When programmed from the USB port, the USBPBP-S1 will remember all of the programmed properties between power cycles. Program once and operate as a stand- alone signal conditioner without having to reprogram for every use. This is perfect for turn-key applications. It’s easy to connect the USBPBP-S1 into the data collection system. Input and output signals can be routed through BNC connection or using the detachable screw terminal connectors. Optional SMA type adapters are also available.
For multi-channel convenience populate the USBDR-8 USB and power distribution rack with USBPBP-S1 modules. The USBDR-8 can hold up to 8 modules and can be daisy chained to create very large channel counts with one host computer. Click here to find out more about the USBDR-8.
Support Software
Alligator Technologies has developed SystemViewUSBPBP-S1, a Windows
based dialog interface to the USBPBP-S1 unit. Just plug any number of USBPBP-S1 units into the USB of the host computer and each unit will be individually recognized. The operating parameters can be changed for each unit or for all attached units with just a couple clicks of the mouse. Set the corner frequency at any value, select the amplifier gain, or even give the USBPBP-S1 a unique name.
Menu-Driven Software - The USBPBP-S1 is supplied with
SystemViewUSBPxx-S1 for Windows for control of the gain, filter type, clock
source, corner frequency, AC coupling, and channel bypass.
Pictured is the software control dialog for controlling one or all USBPBP-S1 units connected to the host computer. The
control of the USBPBP-S1 is straight forward and intuitive. To
obtain the gain, engage the AC couple high pass filter, or clock source use the pull down
lists. To set the corner frequency, type any corner frequency
within the bandwidth limits of the filter into the edit field.
Simply click the Program button to send the parameters through the USB to the USBPBP-S1. In systems
where more than one USBPBP-S1 is connected each unit will be represented by an individual channel dialog window cascade from the upper left of the screen. The contents of the dialog will reflect the current configuration of each unit.

Connection to the Data Acquisition System
All I/O connections from the USBPBP-S1 are made via two BNC connectors or from the supplied removable screw terminal connectors.
